Family Therapy
Are you struggling as a parent? Is one of your children experiencing difficulties that are affecting the others? Is conflict with a spouse creating stress for your children? Are there extended family members in your household with whom you are at odds?
Families in conflict or crisis can benefit greatly by seeing a qualified therapist. In family therapy, therapists work with family members to change patterns of behavior and improve communication skills with a goal of minimizing conflict and improving relationships.
The KPA Approach
Using a strength-based approach, our therapists find the positive assets a family already has in place and facilitates each family’s ability to work together to prioritize these strengths. Our therapists help families recognize unhealthy patterns and take steps toward better communication and more productive ways of resolving conflicts.
Often, individual therapy for younger children (or even adolescents) can turn into family therapy, as assisting parents in understanding what their children are experiencing is the key to facilitating change within their behaviors.
